2

We monitor around the clock

Expatriate checks 5 platforms every 10–30 minutes — even at 3 AM, even on Christmas Eve.

3

We spot it — you apply

New listing matches? You get an email with a direct link within minutes. Apply before anyone else.

Skip the queue

Sweden's housing queues have over 1.2 million people waiting — up to 9 years in Stockholm, 7 in Göteborg, and 3 in Malmö. But every year, thousands of second-hand apartments are rented out by private landlords, completely outside the queue. That's where we come in.

Got questions?

Do I need a personnummer to rent?

No. Second-hand rentals (andrahand) are typically arranged directly between you and the landlord. Most landlords on these platforms do not require a Swedish personnummer — a passport and proof of income are usually sufficient.

How fast are the notifications?

We check each platform every 10–30 minutes. Once a new listing is detected, email alerts go out within 5 minutes on Standard and Priority plans. Free plan alerts are delayed by 30 minutes.

Which platforms do you monitor?

We monitor Qasa, Samtrygg, Bofrid, and Residensportalen — four of the most active second-hand rental platforms in Sweden. We are continuously evaluating additional sources.

Is the platform available in English?

Yes. Expatriate is built English-first. All listings, notifications, and support are in English. We built it specifically for international residents and newcomers to Sweden.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. You can downgrade or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You will keep access until the end of your current billing period.

What is andrahand (second-hand)?

Andrahand, or second-hand rental, means a tenant is subletting their apartment to you. The original tenant retains their lease while you pay them rent. These rentals are typically for 6–24 months and do not require you to join a housing queue. They are the most accessible option for expats and newcomers.
