Our mission

To make the Swedish rental market accessible to the thousands of expats, international students, and remote workers who move to Sweden every year without queue points or a personnummer. We aggregate listings from Sweden's top andrahand platforms, surface them in English, and deliver them to your inbox in real time — so you can apply before the crowd, regardless of how long you've been in Sweden.

What we do

  We monitor Qasa, Samtrygg, Bofrid, Residensportalen, Homii, HousingAnywhere, Spotahome, and Studentlya — checking for new listings every few minutes. You get a single, unified view of the andrahand market instead of 8 separate tabs.

• English-first, always

  Every listing, every notification, and every piece of this site is in English. You should not need to read Swedish to find somewhere to live in Sweden. We translate listing titles and key details automatically.

• Instant email alerts

  The moment a listing matching your filters appears on any of the platforms we monitor, you receive an email. We aim for notification within minutes of a listing going live — fast enough to matter in a competitive market.

• No personnummer required

  Creating an account, setting up alerts, and using Expatriate requires nothing Swedish. Your email address is sufficient. We built this for people who are new to Sweden, because that is exactly who needs it most.

Our data

Expatriate monitors 8 Swedish rental platforms and processes thousands of listings across Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, Uppsala, Lund, Linköping, and other Swedish cities. We deduplicate listings across platforms, so when the same apartment appears on both Qasa and Samtrygg, you receive one notification, not two.

We do not fabricate listings, modify prices, or editorialize on individual apartments. Everything you see is sourced directly from the platforms we track. Listing data is updated throughout the day, every day.

The platforms we aggregate from are all andrahand-focused — we do not index private landlord networks, grey-market listings, or platforms with known fraud problems. If you see something on Expatriate, it came from a monitored source that we have evaluated.
